This is the situation before I drilled the hole
in the floor. |
Here the hole in the floor. First very carrefully
cut the top concrete and then drill the hole in the bottom of the concrete. |

Preparations for the solar boiler. The solar boiler
can go out of service bij closing the 2 valves and opening the bypass. |
The cold water at the right is going to the solar
boiler en the hot water is coming back at the left to the centrale heating. |
|
|
The 3-way valve mounted on 22/04/2007. When the
solar boiler is hot, the water from the solar boiler goes directly to
the domestic water system. The centrale heating boiler is out of service. |

Reservoir of 220 liters and the copper heat exchangers
in it weight already a lot! In the basement I have a small palet with
weels so getting it on its place was not really a probleme. |
Here you see the connections to and from the solar
collectors. |
|
|
Here the solar boiler in the sellar |
The 220 liters reservoir insulated with 12 cm rockwoll.
I made a box with the rest (1000 l reservoir) of the PU insulation plates. |
|
|
The solar boiler.
I placed an expantion vessel on the domestic hot water so the pressure
wil not rise very mutch wihle heating the water. The safty valve at
7 bar will not open. Total amount of water is 220 liter solar boiler
plus 60 liters of the domestic hot water system, at 3% expantion is
7.8 liters, the expantion vessel is 18 liters. |
The 1000 liters reservoir.
De pipes at the right are comming from the solar collectors and go
to the solar boiler at the left. I'm using the small reservoir under
air pressure for put in the anti freeze in the system.

25/08/2006, Problems:
After placing the big reservoir in the seller I put water in it and
have tested the heat exchangers again with 2.5 bar air pressure. Yes
one leak in the solar heat exchanger! Althought I tested it on 6 bar.
I think the flux around the welding bagget has plugged the leak and
with the water the flux is dissolved. So I had to dismantel hole the
PU isolation to remove the heat exchanger again. Also the bodem isolation
hast to be removed, then I can take out the heat exchanger.

|
|
|
|
|
The box completely insulated with 10 cm PU. |
The collector connected to the solar heat exchanger.
Now the pipes must be connected. |
|
|
The two heat exchangers in serie with the cold water
to the solar boiler. The solar boiler gets preheated water. |
|
|
|
Two clamps above and beneath will hold the collectors
on his place. |
The collectors must be placed between the two aluminium
supports. I milled a groof in the back of the supports. With clamps
I mounted the panels on the supports. So I don't have to make any holes
in the collectors without the rist of leaks. |
|
|
The collectors will be placed on this frame.. This
frame must be mounted on the wall. |
Here the collectors on the frame. |
|
|
A PT100 and a thermokoppel mounted in the solar
pannel to measure the temperature. |
Here the frame mounted on the wall, now the collectors
.... |
|
|
7 solar collectors must be placed on the wall. Total
9 m2. |
Lifted the solar pannels with a tackle and place
them in the frame. |
|
|
All the collectors are placed but not yet connected.
Befor and after the summer the collectors at the top will give no schadow
on the colletors below but in the summer they will give a little shadow!
This piture is taken at 15.00 houre and you see that the shadow of the
roof from the neighbours is comming closer to the collectors. |
Here you can see all the collectors. The collectors
below have a bigger angle then the top colletors. I have placed a aluminium
lat under the frame so the ladder can hang against this aluminium lat
and don't tought the collectors.. |
|
|
The collector with the PT100 and the thermokoppel,
type K. For the PT100 I have taken network cable and for the thermokoppel
I have taken compensation wire. |

A water boiler of 10 liters from scrap. |
This wil be the volume expantion tank for the solar
collectors. I have to install a level gauge. |
|
|
Cold water in below. |
Connecting the pipes of the solar collectors. |
|
|
From the 2 collectors below to the upper collectors. |
Top connection, hot water outlet to the solar boiler.
The small pipe is goining tou the wall in to the volume expanton tank
on the attic. |
|
|
Here the expantion tank on the attic wiht level
gauge. |
Temperture controle unit to start the pump. |
